Mr. Sagias is a lawyer, alumnus of the University of Athens with postgraduate studies in Paris. Following examinations I was appointed as Justice of the Peace. In 1961 I took part in a competition for Asst. Court of First Instance Judges and was appointed Asst. Judge of the Piraeus Court of First Instance. In May 1964 I was promoted to Court of First Instance Judge and was appointed to the Corfu Court of First Instance. In parallel with my duties as Court of First Instance Judge is also performed the role of Investigating Judge for three years. In September 1968 I was transferred to the Athens Court of First Instance and was placed in the Appeals Division of the Athens Court of First Instance. Following this I was appointed as Investigating Judge. I worked as an Investigating Judge for three years and then returned to the Appeals Division of the Athens Court of First Instance. In May 1975 I was promoted to Presiding Judge of the Court of First Instance and was appointed to Karditsa Court of First Instance. In September 1977 I was transferred to the Athens Court of First Instance and was appointed as Head of the Criminal Division. In 1978 I was promoted to Court of Appeal Judge and was appointed to the Patra Court of Appeal. In September 1979 I was transferred to the Athens Court of Appeal. In 1989 I was promoted to Presiding Judge of the Court of Appeal and was appointed to the Athens Court of Appeal. In July 1992 I was appointed as a Supreme Court Judge and performed my duties as such for eight (8) years.
